Customer reviews: The author could have told us more about his art., 2006-08-01 The drawings in this book range from quick hasty sketches too highly polished ones with great detail, skill and finesse. there are also 5 paintings taken from the centenary edition of the lord of the rings published by the same author. on every page of the book there are couple of paragraphs written by Lee and they seem very stunted wayward snippets of information . we learn that he worked in a graveyard at the age of 17 whilst reading Edgar Allen Poe and how most English woodland is on rocky undulating ground unfit for cultivation. He also tells us stuff about the production of the films which is tedious mentioning name upon boring name. Mr Lee seems like a really interesting man and more from him about his art and what he thinks about it would have been nice.
