Friends has never failed in the follow-up to a cliff-hanger ending; the interminable gap in-between seasons leaving fans worrying how writers will resolve problems, and how Warner Brothers will afford cast salary increases. Season Five built up lots of continuing threads and left everyone in Las Vegas, with Monica and Chandler stunned to see Rachel and Ross come running out of a wedding chapel. Since that year had also seen a welcome return to the show's roots of pure silly fun, Season Six had a lot to live up to. So, thankfully, "The One After Vegas" starts as it means to go on, with a credit sequence that adds "Arquette" after everyone's name. A cool gag for an episode all about marriage that ends with a dedication "For Courteney and David, who did get married". With Ross secretly avoiding an annulment on his marriage to Rachel, there's a tautly linking thread through these first four episodes. In contrast to this new secrecy, Chandler openly admits he wants to move in with Monica. The knock-on effects of both storylines sees a foolishly scheming Ross ("The One Where Ross Hugs Rachel") battle Phoebe against admitting he's still in love, convincing an exasperated divorce lawyer that "third time's the charm", and adopting a British accent for lectures at NYU ("The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance"). Since Rachel has to move out to make room for Chandler all sorts of hilarity ensues from Joey finding a new roomie by advertising for someone "non-ugly"! --Paul TonksCustomer reviews: constantly in stitches, 2001-04-14 i absolutley love friends it is by far the best programme ever it has everything laughter, sadness, you are never dissapointed. i love this video especially where ross tries to talk rachel into staying married and rachel says "this isn't a marriage this is the worlds worst hangover" classic. i think the writers and the actors are the best you totally deserve all the congratulations you get.keep it up!
A great return to form!, 2000-09-03 Friends is finally back and this vid resolves all the confusing Vegas stuff. Yes, Ross and Rachel did get spliced but now they want an annulment. However, while Rachel thinks everything's sorted out Ross hides the fact they're still married and only confides in Phoebe. This video leaves you on a cliffhanger because during the final moments of The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance (the last eppy on this video) Rachel discovers the secret and demands an explanation from Ross. There's other stuff to get excited about though. Monica and Chandler announce they're moving in together - more chaos therefore ensuing as Rachel decides where she will live, Joey searches for a 'non-ugly' roomate and the two lovebirds bicker about what they should do with Rachel's old room. Lisa Kudrow is the shining star throughout, yet everyone gets a piece of the action and are used fully... Being an owner of all the videos, I was thoroughly pleased with this!
