Season 5: Divorce number two is immediately on the cards as the year opens with "T.O. After Ross Says Rachel". As of this point, Ross' character undergoes some extreme personality changes (which apparently lost Schwimmer many female fans). His incessant whining drives all the Friends to distraction, especially in "T.O.W. Ross Moves In" with Chandler and Joey. Later things get uncomfortable both at work and at home when he goes through a period of rage ("T.O.W. Ross' Sandwich"). While all this downplays his failed relationship with Rachel, the real idea is to allow focus on the secret pairing of Chandler and Monica after a night of passion in London. This made for a return to the show's appealingly silly atmosphere as poor Joey is made piggy-in-the-middle of everyone's secrets. Building to "T.O.W. Everybody Finds Out", the silliness pauses for some genuinely touching interplay between Perry and Cox. The previous year's semi-serious thread about Phoebe's birth gets forgotten fast: to distract the viewer she's introduced to Gary (Michael Rapaport) in "T.O.W. The Cop". This leads to some hilarious parodying with Phoebe interrogated about apartment hunting, and the guys excited and then scared in "T.O. W. The Ride Along". She's more than over him by the time of the two-part finale "T.O.W. In Vegas" though, especially since she missed out on London. Just in case fans thought Chandler and Monica had permanently stolen the spotlight, a cliffhanger shocks expectation again with Ross and Rachel bursting out of a chapel... --Paul TonksCustomer reviews: mid-series coasting, 2000-11-01 It seems that there is a pattern in all friends series, in the fact that the middle episodes of the series are usually not as good as the first or the last ones . Series 5 is a similar case; of course one has to keep in mind that in Friends lack of hilarious situations is never the case. Episodes 13-16 revolve around small little everyday - life occurrences which are, as usual, a lot of laughs. But these episodes' role is to bring you through to the last series' episodes where every single situation practically goes out of hand. On the other hand, there is a key element here: the big revealing of Chandler and Monica's relationship in episode 14, which is something definitely not to be missed (After finding out, everyone decides to have a little fun with them and Phoebe's part is hilarious in this situation)!!! In conclusion, episodes 13-16 are the bridge that should lead you to the closing of series 5 and the beginning of series 6. In my opinion, although they are not the greatest episodes ever (still, they are a lot of fun), they are essential to the overall plot and you cannot really go without them.
Excellent, 2000-10-31 This video has the best episodes all on the one tape, especially if your a Chandler and Monica fan. Very funny scenes which include Chandler "i'm sorry" marriage proposal and where Ross finds about Chandler and Monica through the window, Joey and his bag, Pheobe becoming a cop, Ross going through his RAGE stage and the EXTREMELY funny scene where Pheobe is trying to seduce Chandler to make him crack and admit he and Mon are an item. Where Chandler finally cracks yelling "i can't sleep with you""why not?Pheobe says "because i'm in love with monica, thats right i love her i LOVE her" Where Mon comes out of her hidin place and tell chandler she loves him too. "i thought you to where just doing it i didn't know you where in love!"-Pheobe I would recomend this to anyone The best video in my collection by far!
