I remembered watching this movie as a child so I decided to get it. It's not quite like I remembered, there are a lot of songs sung in this movie, which it definitely not my thing. It could be compared to a bad disney sequel, however, I still love how John and his brother try to get their dad to let them open presents at midnight, because technically it's the 25th. My favorite parts are usually revolved around Odie, especially when he makes the back scratcher for Garfield.

First and foremost, as all of the other recent reviewers have mentioned: this Garfield special is now on a Holiday Celebrations DVD with two others. I own a vast collection of Garfield VHS tapes and I'm probably going to make the switch to DVD in the near future.
A Garfield Christmas really captures the holiday spirit. This is by far my favorite Christmas special. The music, the mood, the emotion, the surprise, even the atmosphere - it's all expressed and felt by this special! I watch this every year at Christmas time and it really makes me feel part of the Garfield family. I especially love the part with Garfield and grandma together.
Regardless of how many times I watch it over and over I will never get tired of seeing this special every Christmastime, and look forward to sharing it with my children one day.!
