Customer reviews: The Origin of BtVS!!!, 2006-02-16 This Graphic Novel translates the events of the original BtVS movie into the canon of the TV show.
Hence we have likenesses of the lovely Sarah Michelle Geller as Buffy, the Vamps look like they do in the Series (unlike the camp-y vamps from the movie). Merrick (Buffy's first watcher) is drawn as he appeared in flashbacks from the series, as opposed to the Donald Sutherland version from the movie (shame!). And events unfold as they do in the TV series canon (IIRC, Buffy didn't burn down the school in the movie). The characters are good, though there is no Willow, Xander and Giles in the main story. There IS Pike, who's an interesting character (shame he never turned up in the series!) Buffy's first boyfriiend 'in the know' about slayage, and is her principle ally here. It's a short story, but there is the artwork to appreciate and it's a fine intro to BtVS Season 1. Great for all 'Buffy' fans, 2002-02-28 This graphic novel is great for all Buffy fans and definatley a must have for new fans. It tells the story of Buffy as a school girl in a L.A who finds out she is the chosen one, she must face and destroy the vampires and demons with the help of her watcher. Find out more about her first watcher Merrik and how she came to live in sunnydale after burning down her high school gym. Its a great novel and the graphics are brilliant, its a collectors piece for all the Buffy fans out there.
